TO THE NATIONAL ASSOCIATIONS OF
\nTHE INTERNATIONAL SOCIETY FOR LABOUR AND SOCIAL SECURITY LAW<\/h4>\n

 <\/p>\n

As announced in the ISLSSL Bulletin the 8th International Seminar on International and Comparative Labour Law will take place in Venice, at C\u00e0 Foscari University on 23-26 May 2022.<\/strong> The 2022 edition of the Seminar will be dedicated to the issue of \u201cLabour Law and Climate Change: towards a Just Transition\u201d.<\/strong> All Seminar\u2019s participants are invited to take an active part in the discussion from an interdisciplinary perspective. In particular, on 26st May a session will be dedicated to the presentation and discussion of the papers presented by the Young Legal Scholars of the ISLSSL. This call for paper is open also to all Young Scholars who would like to take part in the International Seminar. Of course, the interested scholars can also submit additional perspectives of analysis, but always linked to the general theme of the Seminar. Researchers and Young Scholars from countries around the world are invited to submit original papers with new and innovative results on scientific, technical and practical experience. As is customary for the ISLSSL, papers should be quantitative and rigorous. A (non-exclusive) list of potential conference topics is: In recent years, climate change has urgently called for new social-economic paradigms in order to address the unsustainability of existing models. Moreover, what has been neglected so far is the need to adopt models that envisage interdisciplinary and organic approaches at the international, euro-unitary and national level in order to plan both an ecological and social transition. As a matter of fact, the labour law, ecological and environmental issues have long been managed with a lack of communicative approach. The idea of \u200b\u200bharmonizing policies aimed at implementing the ecological transition and measures to support employment transitions has only been addressed in recent years and mostly as a principle. Sustainable development and climate justice have been developed to address emerging social issues as part of a broader response to the ecological crisis. However, the difficulty in addressing these issues in an interdisciplinary perspective between labour law and environmental sciences has had the controversial result of developing sometimes very different notions of \u201cJust Transition\u201d. However, the close link between green transition and social-economic transition is undeniable: promoting actions to reduce dependence on fossil fuels and encouraging climate-neutral activities means to reform the scope of the company in a sustainable way. But it also means to identify adequate tools to protect especially vulnerable workers within the transition period, providing them with the necessary tools to retrain their skills so as to adapt them to the new needs of green economy. Therefore, the main goal is to rethink the traditional role of labour law, paving the way for a reflection on new integrated strategies, new industrial relations and the new challenges related to transition. The objective of this Call for papers is to encourage the debate on the effects, in the context of labour law, of Just transition, by requesting papers that fit within the framework of such reflections, developing the general guidelines and implications with particular reference to the following aspects:<\/p>\n
